Kosorou oku poh di tomulok oku poh (I remembered when I was still young). Tuminanud oku dih tabang om taka ku moi pamarangkat doh burutan mantad hino poindohuan (I've followed my elder brother and sister to carry some logs from the field).
Okon matu nasip yahai di, tu ruminasam doh ologod kopio hino pointanga doh ralan (Maybe it wasn't our luck, since it rained heavily at the middle of the road). Ngam ngam poh kadau tu haro doh iso baang hino tanga tanga doh ralan dahai doh muli (It just happens that there is a river on our road back home).
Amu dah korosi ti baang montok doh tadau ii amu rumasam, nga okon ko alang alang ti baang ontok doh nakarasam (This river seems harmless on sunny days, but it's wicked on rainy days).
Oruhai oku noh dah koluyud hino baang, tu okoro oku gia dih pogulu (Since I was pretty small before, I almost drowned by the strong current of the river). Ondos ku om, matai oku noh dah, nga nasip poh tu haro ii tabangon ku hino (I thought that I was going to die that day, if it was not because my brother was there).
"Oruhai noh dah amu kouli iso tanak nuh ii tinu ma," ka di tabangon ku kumaa di tama ku hino walai ("One of your children almost cannot make it home just now, mom," said my brother to my mom at home).
Maan di tanak wagu hino kampung ku wonsoio iso jambatan hino baang, tuh modosi di diolo haro o tulun koluyud kaagu miagal doho (Since the guys in my village were afraid that someone might get drowned like me, they made a small bridge across the river).
Bah, tongo tompinai, insan kou nokoumbal doh migal ino toi?(Okay peeps, have you ever experienced something like that?)
Aramai tih! (Cheers!)
